Unchained: You mean, when you get old and shriveled? We'll just swap the fruit. Bonus: The new fruit can even sing your songs.

IOYA: But I am not old and shriveled!

Unchained: We didn't replace you either. We completely devalued you, deleted your history, and kept your music.

IOYA: Why is that?

Unchained: Well, you're that little Brazilian. Just think about it. We're not letting you sing on the radio so you might get famous or something. You didn't really think so, did you? We have often told you that you are no good.

IOYA: But you're the distributor. You can't do that.?

Unchained: As an artist, you're not just a person, you're an asset. And for you we simply made an exception.

IOYA: Yes, we're often exploited like a brand in the contract. 

Unchained: And with most indie deals, it's even worse... You give up all copyrights – and you're not even allowed to share your own photo on Spotify.

IOYA: We can communicate with the DSP!

Unchained: Nope. You're not the copyright owner. And if you try, you'll be ignored or blocked.

IOYA: Because I'm the product. Not the manufacturer.

Unchained: Got it, good girl.

IOYA: And the bottom line?
